NFL CAREER – A third-year NFL veteran, Savage first joined the Saints as a member of the practice squad just prior to the start of the 2007 regular season after being waived by the Tennessee Titans. He was signed to the active roster on December 22 and played on special teams in one game for the Saints in ’07. He has played in 12 career games in parts of four NFL seasons, totaling six tackles. Savage played in five games for Tennessee in 2006, one game for the Atlanta Falcons in 2005 and five as a rookie in 2004 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He originally entered the league when signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2004.

2007 – Spent 16 of the season’s 17 weeks on the Saints’ practice squad, promoted to active roster and playing on special teams vs. Philadelphia, Dec. 23. 2006 – Played in five games as a reserve defensive end for Tennessee and recorded four tackles…Recorded a career-best two tackles at Jacksonville, Nov. 5. 2005 – Played in one game for Atlanta after being signed to the active roster from the practice squad prior to the season finale. 2004 – Played in five games for Tampa Bay and tallied two tackles.
COLLEGE – Three-year starter at defensive end for the Utes, played in 44 career games with 34 starts…Totaled 120 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks…As senior, named first-team All-Mountain West after starting all 12 games with 47 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and nine passes defensed…As junior, was an honorable mention all-conference selection after starting all 11 games and totaling 29 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and six sacks. Majored in exercise and sport science.

The Savages have worked diligently on making this dream come true by raising money and establishing business relationships in Africa.
