NFL CAREER – McCray took over as a full-time starter over the last half of 2008 after an injury to DE Charles Grant and responded with a stellar season, posting a pair of two-sack games and the second-highest tackle total of his career. Signed as a free agent prior to last year to provide a quick burst off the corner in pass-rushing situations as well as quality depth, McCray proved to be invaluable after Grant's injury. He led the team with six sacks, forced a fumble and had five stops behind the line of scrimmage. McCray played his first four seasons with Jacksonville, departing ranked seventh in club history with 22 sacks. A seventh-round pick in 2004, McCray has started 37 of 77 NFL contests.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS – Signed by Saints to five-year contract (UFA-JAX), 3/2/08; Selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round (249th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.

2008 – Played in all 16 games, starting the final eight…Had 37 tackles (26 solo), the second-highest total of his career, a club-high six sacks and a forced fumble…Sack total was second-most of career, trailing only the 10 he had in 2006…Notched a sack and three stops vs. Tampa Bay, Sept. 7…Posted three solo tackles and a pair of sacks vs. Oakland, Oct. 12. Also forced a fumble recovered by DT Kendrick Clancy, leading to a TD drive. It was the fourth multi-sack game of his career…Tied his career-high with seven stops at Carolina, Oct. 19…At Tampa Bay, Nov. 30, recorded two sacks. 2007 – Saw action in 14 games, with nine starts, and recorded 24 tackles, three sacks, batted down three passes and forced a fumble…Started both playoff games and had four stops, a sack and a forced fumble… Played in 50th career game at Denver, Sept. 23, and recorded 100th career tackle…Started Dec. 16 at Pittsburgh and recorded first sack of season…Dec. 23 vs. Oakland, started at defensive end and recorded four solo tackles, five QB pressures and forced a fumble along with two sacks…Recorded a sack, forced fumble and four stops at Pittsburgh in AFC Wild Card game, 1/5/08. 2006 – Started 12 games and totaled career-bests with 49 tackles (42 solo), 10 sacks and two forced fumbles…Recorded at least one sack in nine of 15 games…Made first start Oct. 8 vs. NY Jets and tallied two sacks with seven tackles…Had six tackles (five solo), a sack and a forced fumble Dec. 17 at Tennessee…Dec. 31 at Kansas City, sacked Trent Green and forced a fumble which led to a touchdown. 2005 – Played in all 16 games with one start and collected 23 tackles (20 solo) along with 5.5 sacks…Nov. 6 vs. Houston had a sack and forced a fumble that he recovered and added two tackles…Notched his first career two-sack game vs. Baltimore, Nov. 13…Posted two tackles and a sack at Cleveland, Dec. 4…Closed regular season vs. Tennessee, Jan. 1, with a sack, five stops and a forced fumble. 2004 – Played in all 16 games as a rookie, with seven starts and recorded 25 tackles (18 solo) and 3.5 sacks…Notched first career sack Oct. 10 at San Diego, tackling RB LaDainian Tomlinson behind the line on a halfback option…Turned in finest outing at Minnesota Nov. 28 with three tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and three pass deflections…Totaled three solo tackles, a sack and a forced fumble at Green Bay, Dec. 19.

COLLEGE – Appeared in 36 games, starting 15 contests, including 13 games in the final two years…Recorded 107 tackles with 14.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery…All-Southeastern Conference second-team selection as a senior and All-SEC second-team pick by The Sporting News as a junior…Majored in recreation program delivery.
