NFL CAREER – The cornerstone of the Saints’ offensive front, over his first four seasons the former No. 1 pick has established himself as one of the NFL’s premier left tackles. Brown followed up an honor-filled 2006 season where he was voted a starter to the Pro Bowl and an All-Pro with another strong performance in 2007. Brown was part of an offensive line that allowed a league-low 16 sacks last season, despite the Saints attempting 652 passes, the most in the NFL. Selected 13th overall out of Oklahoma in 2005, Brown played right tackle as a rookie before making the transition to the left side in his second year and has started all 43 games of his career. He is known for his hard-nosed approach to the game and his ability to both open holes for the running game and serve as the chief protector of the quarterback’s blind side on passing downs. In 2005, Brown was a near-unanimous choice for NFL All-Rookie squads after immediately stepping in as a starter.
