Getting to Houston
Fans can travel to Houston by flying into one of two active airports in Houston. There are direct flights from New Orleans to Houston with select airlines to both George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) airports. Fans looking to make the drive to Houston from New Orleans should expect to be on the road between 5 and 6 hours.
Houston International Airports
Once you've arrived at either IAH or HOU, there are several forms of transportation to make the trip into town including: taxis, limousines, shuttles, and app-based rideshare services. All ground transportation services – including rental car agencies, taxi and limousine services are located on the lower level of the terminal building adjacent to baggage claim.
App-based rideshare programs such as Uber and Lyft are available and range in price depending on the size of the vehicle requested.
Getting to NRG Stadium
The Houston Metro and its METRORail operates various routes near and around NRG Park. The Houston Metro and METRORail is a viable transportation option for NRG Park events and operate various routes near and around the complex. Cabs are also available to bring fans to the stadium. Parking at NRG Stadium
NRG Park is located within the Inner Loop of the southern portion of Interstate Loop 610 between Kirby Street and Fannin Street. Tailgating Policies
The Texans want NRG Stadium to provide the finest tailgating experience in the NFL, so they have established a few guidelines to make your tailgating party great:
- All Parking lots (except for Platinum – 5 hours prior) will open 4 hours prior to kickoff.
- All parking at NRG Stadium will require a purchased parking pass; it is recommended to purchase in advance but cashless parking will be available in the Yellow and Maroon lots for $40.
- Parking is first-come, first-serve for the first hour; saving spots will not be allowed. If you would like to tailgate near friends, please arrive together.
- Postgame tailgating will be permitted for 1 hour following the conclusion of the game. At that time, lots begin to close and all vehicles must leave the property.
- Barbecues in tow will also be required to have an additional purchased pass. You will not be allowed to buy one at the gate.
