Injured for the majority of the 2016 season, New Orleans Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux is set to open up the season at the top of the cornerback depth chart. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound New Orleans native looks to bounce back to his high level of play that was displayed in 2015.
In his rookie season, the McDonogh 35 standout had three interceptions, 23 passes defensed and recorded a fumble recovery.
The former Canadian League player's sophomore season was entirely different. He broke his fibula in the first game against the Oakland Raiders. Breaux returned in the second half of the season and collected 21 tackles and one pass defense in his six games.
Looking to make an impact again on defense in 2017, Breaux spoke about getting back on the field:
"I'm just working. I'm keeping my head low and just coming out there and working.
"Coach is always telling me what I'm doing wrong. That doesn't do anything but add fuel to the fire. It makes me want to go out there and compete."
