25 Reasons to Get Excited about 2013 Saints Training Camp: No. 15 Junior Galette

NewOrleansSaints.com will showcase one reason a day to get excited about the start of the 2013 New Orleans Saints Training Camp presented by Verizon. Reason No. 15 – Linebacker Junior Galette

Junior Galette is entering his fourth season for the black and gold.

Galette, 6 feet 2 and 258 pounds, is known for his tremendous athletic ability and a knack for rushing the passer. He spent his first three seasons as a defensive end but will move to linebacker in the team's 3-4 defensive alignment under new Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan.

Galette was first signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Stillman College and made the club's 53-man roster after training camp. This offseason, Galette and the Saints agreed to a three-year contract extension.

The Port-Au-Prince, Haiti native, who ranked third on the team in sacks in each of the past two seasons, has appeared in 32 games with two starts and has career totals of 51 tackles (34 solo), 9.5 sacks, one pass defense, one forced fumble and 11 special teams stops. In 2012, while appearing in just 12 games with one start, he registered 22 tackles (18 solo), a career-high five sacks, one forced fumble and four special teams stops.

Rob Ryan on Galette (June 4, 2013):
"He is a smart and hard-working kid. He has come such a long way with Bill Johnson. We are excited about him and his progress. He is working really hard, competing, and that's everything we like."
