Curtis Lofton released a statement on his Twitter account after being released by the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Lofton thanked the team and fans for "three great year":
"'A man is measured by what it takes to discourage him!'
* I WON'T BE DISCOURAGED!*
* Being released sucks, but I have many reasons to count my blessings and look on the brighter side. I got to play and lay it all on the line for THE WHO DAT NATION for three great years. You guys will always be a part of me. Thank you!*
To my former teammates - WEIRD saying that - we had our ups and downs over our three years playing together. But I can walk away knowing that I'm going to have friendships that I'll take to my grave. Thank you, guys
To the Bensons, coaches and Saints organization, thanks for giving a country boy a chance to play in N'awlins!
Lastly, I will take my passion, my love to compete and love for this great game elsewhere. I can assure you that whatever team I end up with will get one hell of a ball player. I've just got to trust God and know he's in control. When he orders our steps, all he asks for us to do is follow - and that's what I'm going to do!"
