Devery Henderson to appear at Saints Hall of Fame Museum Monday, Oct. 8

Henderson was the consummate deep threat, averaging 17.9 yards per catch

Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Devery Henderson will appear at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum on Monday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m., prior to the Saints home game against the Washington Redskins.

A native of Opelousas, Henderson starred at Opelousas High and LSU before being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

Henderson went on to play nine seasons for the Saints, playing in 124 games and recording 245 receptions for 4,377 yards and 20 touchdowns. Henderson was the consummate deep threat, averaging 17.9 yards per catch. He led the NFL in yards-per-catch in both 2006 (23.3) and 2008 (24.8). Henderson also rushed for 119 yards and a score. He ranks sixth in New Orleans Saints history in receiving yards.

Henderson was an integral member of the 2009 Super Bowl championship team. In Super Bowl XLIV at Miami on Feb. 7, 2010, Henderson caught seven passes for 63 yards as the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. Henderson had his most productive season in 2009, posting career highs of 51 receptions and 804 yards.

Henderson was part of four playoff teams and in eight playoff games, he had 31 receptions for 464 yards and four touchdowns.

Henderson will be available for autographs and pictures. The museum is located at Gate B on the Plaza level of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and is open two hours prior to each Saints home game and for 45 minutes following each game. The museum is open by appointment only Monday-Friday between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at a cost of $10 per adult, $5 for seniors (60 and under), children 12 and under and for groups of 10 or more.
