Drew Brees sets single-game NFL completion record with 96.7 percent performance

He was 29 of 30 for 307 yards with four touchdowns

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees didn't just set the NFL record for touchdown passes Monday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, he also set the NFL single-game completion record with a 96.7 percent performance (in a game with minimum of 20 attempts).

Brees, who broke Peyton Manning's touchdown record in the third quarter, was 29 of 30 for 307 yards with four touchdowns when he left the game in the fourth quarter of a 34-7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts. Brees completed 22 consecutive passes Monday. The NFL record is 25.
