Here are your Five Things to Know about the New Orleans Saints on Monday, Aug. 12:

1. The New Orleans Saints have the day off after having practice Sunday. They will return to practice on Tuesday and continue practicing through Friday before traveling to San Francisco for their Week 2 preseason contest against the 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. CT.

2. The team will now be practicing against itself for the remainder of the week after joint practices with the San Francisco 49ers were canceled.

3. Saints kicker Charlie Smyth saw his first NFL action Saturday and drilled his first field goal to give the Saints a 16-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Smith spoke with Erin Summers on the New Orleans Saints Podcast about that moment.
