New Orleans Saints safety Roman Harper has been added to the NFC's Pro Bowl squad, it was announced by the club and the NFL. Harper replaces Green Bay's Nick Collins on the roster of the game to be played on January 30 In Honolulu, who will not play after his team advanced to the Super Bowl today. Harper is the first safety in franchise history to be named to two Pro Bowls. He will join QB Drew Brees, G Jahri Evans, G Carl Nicks and LB Jonathan Vilma at the game. This marks the first time in franchise history that the Saints have had at least five Pro Bowl selections in back to back seasons.
The 2006 second round draft pick finished the 2010 regular season ranked second on the Saints with 100 tackles (82 solo), one interception, three sacks, tied for fourth in the NFL among safeties, ten pass defenses and a career-high five forced fumbles, tied for fifth in the NFL.
The Prattville, Alabama native and former Crimson Tide standout has started all 67 games he's been active for at strong safety and has recorded 461 stops (328 solo), 9.5 sacks, four interceptions, 34 pass defenses and 11 forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
