The Saints Girls High School Flag Football program is designed to provide high school girls in Louisiana and Mississippi an opportunity to develop their football skills, compete in organized play, focus on character development and mentorship, and build lasting relationships. With the support of the New Orleans Saints, the program continues to grow, creating new opportunities for girls to thrive on and off the field.

"We are excited to welcome these new schools to join our second year of programming as we continue to expand Girls High School Flag Football in our region," said Elicia Broussard Sheridan, Vice President of Community Relations & Youth Sports Development at the New Orleans Saints. "There has been an overwhelming interest and increased demand from schools throughout the state, and we are committed to continuing our work with the LHSAA in creating engagement opportunities statewide while anticipating the official sanctioning of the sport in the coming months."

On January 30, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's (LHSAA) Executive Committee met and recognized that with over 100 member schools interested in adding the sport, Girls High School Flag Football is now conditionally approved in Louisiana. Procedurally, a formal vote to finalize the approval as a sanctioned sport through the LHSAA will take place at the governing body's Executive Committee meeting in April.

The Saints Girls High School Flag Football program is part of NFL FLAG, a nationwide initiative that aims to promote football among girls and boys alike.
