The New Orleans Saints (5-9) will go on the road for their second Monday Night Football contest of the season, playing the Green Bay Packers (10-4) at Lambeau Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT on Monday, December 23. The contest will be nationally televised on ABC and ESPN.
Monday night will mark the fourth game between the Saints and Packers in a five-year span and this is the third straight year the Saints have visited Green Bay in either the preseason (2022) or regular season (2023-24). The Packers lead the all-time series, 18-10.
Against the Washington Commanders in Week 15, the Saints came back from a 17-0 deficit to close the lead to 20-19 with 0:00 left in game on a Spencer Rattler touchdown pass to tight end Foster Moreau. Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi elected to go for the win, but the 2-point conversion was unsuccessful. Saints running back Alvin Kamara joined Hall of Famers Lenny Moore and Marshall Faulk plus Christian McCaffrey as the only players in NFL history with 50+ rushing touchdowns and 25+ receiving touchdowns in their career.
The Green Bay Packers are coming off a dominating 30-13 win in Week 15 at Seattle, snapping the Seahawks' four-game winning streak. The Packers have scored 30+ points in each of their last four games with quarterback Jordan Love throwing seven touchdowns and no interceptions. Love has had a 100+ passer rating in his last five starts; only Aaron Rodgers has had a longer streak by a Packers QB since 1970.
The Saints will try to prevent the Packers from clinching a playoff berth with a Week 16 win, but Green Bay can also clinch prior to kickoff if the Falcons (7-7) lose (or tie) and either the Rams (8-6) or Seahawks (8-6) lose (or tie).

THE LAST MEETING
Packers 18, Saints 17; Sept. 24, 2023 @ Lambeau Field – The New Orleans Saints had a 17-point lead in the third quarter when quarterback Derek Carr was knocked out of the game with a right shoulder injury on a sack. Without Carr the Saints couldn't hold onto the lead as the Green Bay Packers rallied for an 18-17 victory Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston came on in relief of Carr and made several strong throws to star receiver Michael Thomas but the offense could not sustain a drive, punting on five possessions in the second half. Rookie kicker Blake Grupe had a chance to give the Saints a lead but his 46-yard attempt missed to the right with 1:05 to play. It was the first miss of Grupe's career. FULL GAME RECAP
