The New Orleans Saints announced this afternoon that the team has agreed to terms with veteran unrestricted free agent C Olin Kreutz. Saints' Executive VP/GM Mickey Loomis made the announcement.

Kreutz, 6-2, 292 pounds, is a 13-year NFL veteran who was originally selected in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. The native of Honolulu, Hawaii has been named to the Pro Bowl six times during his career (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006), as well as being named to four All-Pro teams (2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006). Kreutz, a product of the University of Washington, has played in 191 career NFL games, with 183 starts. He as played in every game with the exception of one over the course of the past 10 NFL seasons.   

During his career in Chicago, the Bears qualified for the playoffs four separate times, including as NFC Champions in 2005, when they defeated the Saints in the NFC Championship game and advanced to Super Bowl XLI where they faced the Indianapolis Colts.

Kreutz owns a streak having started 134 straight games, with his last missed start occurring on Nov. 18, 2002 after undergoing an appendectomy.  He was named as a team captain for the Bears every season under current head coach Lovie Smith (2004-current).
