Postgame Notes following the Saints 34-27 win over the Houston Texans

*The Saints improved to 2-2 in the preseason and conclude their preseason schedule Thursday, Aug. 30, on the road against the Tennessee Titans.

*The victory was the 100th preseason win in Saints' franchise history. New Orleans is now 100-110-1 all-time in preseason games.

*This is the sixth consecutive year that the Saints have won the next-to-last game of the preseason. In that span, New Orleans has outscored their opponents 198-82.

*This is the fifth consecutive season the Saints and Texans have met in the preseason. The Saints have won three of the five meetings.

*QB Drew Brees saw his most extensive action of the preseason, playing the entire first half and completing 17 of 25 passes for 179 yards, two touchdowns and a passer rating of 115.2.

*Playing most of the second half, QB Chase Daniel completed 11 of 17 passes for 88 yards and the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to WR Joseph Morgan.

*WR Lance Moore had one reception in the Saints' first three preseason games, but caught two passes on the first scoring drive of the night, including the 20-yard touchdown catch from Brees. Moore finished with three catches for 38 yards.

*Nine seconds after Moore's touchdown, DE Junior Galette returned a fumble on the ensuing kickoff 16 yards for a touchdown. In two seasons with the Saints, Galette has had neither a fumble recovery nor a touchdown in the regular season.

*Rookie CB Corey White forced a fumble on the Texans' next possession, which was recovered by DT Sedrick Ellis.

*The Saints defense produced a third takeaway in the first half when S Malcolm Jenkins forced a fumble that was recovered by DE Will Smith.

*TE Jimmy Graham had seen only limited action in the first three preseason games without a reception. He had a productive night against the Texans with three receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He had another 57-yard reception wiped out by penalty.

*Three defensive starters each had five total tackles in the first half: CB Patrick Robinson, DE Cameron Jordan and SS Roman Harper. One of Jordan's tackles was a sack for -7 yards.

*Rookie DT Akiem Hicks had a pass defense and a sack for -8 yards on the same fourth quarter series.
