The New Orleans Saints have signed rookie free agent offensive lineman Joe McMahon, it was announced by the club today.

McMahon, 6-4, 295 pounds, played one season at Central Michigan and started 12 games for the Chippewas in 2008, five at right guard and seven at center. He transferred to CMU after initially enrolling at Iowa State and then playing a season at Joliet (Ill.) Junior College, where was named a first-team NJCAA All-American in 2006.

The team has also waived guard Shawn Flanagan.
