  1. It's GOTTA be the shoes: Quarterback Drew Brees sported red Louis Vuitton/Supreme/Nike cleats for the first day of padded practice Sunday. Turns out Brees is an Instagram follower of Miami-based artist Marcus Rivero and when Drew and eldest son Baylen were checking out the latest styles of Rivero these shoes popped up on his feed. To make a long story short Baylen "flipped out" when he saw the shoes, Drew let Rivero know, and two days ago, the shoes were in Brees' locker with a message from Rivero. Don't get used to them though, the shoes were "retired" Sunday.rew
  2. Run defense shines: One of the best things about being in pads is the "Inside" drill or 9-on-7…meaning nine defenders and seven on offense, strictly working on the run game. Usually the defense has the upper hand and that held true as linebacker Demario Davis and defensive end Marcus Davenport stuffed running back Alvin Kamara on consecutive run plays at the beginning of the drill.
  3. Clash of the Titans, kind of: Offensive and defensive linemen are the biggest guys on any football team as far as girth, but offensive tackle Nate Wozniak and defensive end Corbin Kaufusi take it to the next level height-wise, standing at 6 feet 10 and 6-9, respectively. They are impossible to miss when they are lined up on each side of the ball. Alas, they do not face each other as both line up on the left side at tackle and end.
