<span style="">In addition to cheering on the Saints Sidelines, the New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders, the Saintsations, support community projects through the "Saintsation Inspiration Program." The primary focus of the 2008-2009 program is to promote positive initiatives geared toward women and children. For the second year in a row, the Saintsations are proud to continue their involvement with Angels' Place, a non-profit, local children's charity providing respite services and assistance to seriously and terminally ill children and their families.
Angels' Place provides a loving and caring environment for children diagnosed with life-threatening illness. Emotional support is also given to the family as they cope with their dying child. At present, Angels' Place has 87 children in its care, all visits being made in either the hospital or at home. Anita Gilford, founder and executive director of Angel's Place has been working toward the building of a beautiful respite/end of life home, in the Greater New Orleans Area, where both the child and their family can receive respite care they so desperately need. Gilford states, "Our respite/end of life program provides ease and comfort to the whole family and help preserve the family unit."
In order to fulfill Ms. Gilford's mission, Angel's Place is teaming up with the New Orleans Saintsations for an evening of fun, food, and fashion at the "Under Angel's Wings" fundraiser on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Airport Hilton. In addition to modeling fashions from SteinMart, the Saintsations will kick off the night with an opening performance, and will also assist with the live and silent auctions taking place throughout the evening.
