The San Francisco 49ers lead the New Orleans Saints 21-10 at halftime Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick connected with receiver Anquan Boldin five times for 86 yards and a 15-yard touchdown pass. The 49ers raced to a 14-0 lead behind a 4-yard Frank Gore touchdown run and a 9-yard Carlos Hyde touchdown run. Gore's TD was set up by a Drew Brees interception on the Saints' first possession.
Gore ran the ball 15 times for 57 yards and the score.
The Saints scored on a 40-yard Shayne Graham field goal and a 31-yard pass to rookie Brandin Cooks. The Saints had a chance to score late after recovering a Kaepernick fumble Brees was picked off in the end zone while trying to connect with Jimmy Graham.
Brees was 11 for 21 for 103 yards, the TD and two interceptions. Running back Mark Ingram ran the ball nine times for 35 yards. Cooks had four receptions for 85 yards.
