Sprinkler discharge at Saints vs. Buccaneers game affects sections 152-156

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Shortly before kickoff at the New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game today, a sprinkler head in a concession stand near Plaza Section 154 discharged a significant amount of water from the fire suppression system.

SMG immediately responded to the situation, and the discharge was contained at approximately 12:15 p.m. Water flooded the concourse, seating areas and some areas below the seating bowl between Plaza Sections 152 – 156. The Plaza concourse area near these sections was closed temporarily to address the flooding.

The affected concourse area reopened at approximately 1:05 p.m., about three minutes prior to halftime.

The cause of the sprinkler discharge is under investigation but was not due to fire.
