This year, Usama Young of the New Orleans Saints' story was selected as the NFL's "Super Ad" for Super Bowl XLIII. Usama tells his inspirational journey in which he went from working as a vendor at Redskins' games as a teenager to playing against the Redskins as a member of the New Orleans Saints. "Super Ad" is the league's annual player marketing campaign where players share their unique stories tied to football. Hundreds of players participated and fans were able to vote on their favorites during the last six weeks of the season. This was the third year of the campaign.
"I always dreamed of growing up and playing in the NFL," said Young. "Having made it to the league and being a New Orleans Saint is something that I'm very proud of. I want to thank all of the Saints fans for voting for my story; I'm proud to represent our team."
The two videos highlight both Usama's story and the final "Super Ad" commercial aired during the third quarter of the Super Bowl XLIII broadcast.
