Whitney Bank and the New Orleans Saints hosted one of its 24 Saints Junior Training Camps on Wednesday, May 22 at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans.
Saints representatives were joined by teachers and coaches from Newman to instruct the students on football skills while also imparting valuable life lessons in an effort to help the young students learn about living an active lifestyle, as well helping them develop strong leadership skills.
"At Whitney Bank, giving back to the communities we serve is at the very core of who we are," said Caroline Milling, Whitney Bank Corporate Contributions Director. "Providing local students the chance to interact with successful professionals to learn valuable life lessons in a unique, fun environment reflects our commitment to giving back. We want these young people to be successful and achieve their goals."
The training camp visits schools throughout the Gulf Coast, giving second through eighth grade boys and girls firsthand interaction with members of the Saints organization. The students attend clinics and receive motivational lessons involving education, goal setting, teamwork and more.
The training camps will run through football season and into the spring at pre-chosen area schools. Schools that participate in the program are pre-selected in conjunction with The New Orleans Saints.
