Greg Bensel, an integral part of the franchise for 28 years, oversees all aspects of the Saints' communications, broadcasting, digital and social media, community relations, government relations, and youth sports development departments. In addition, Bensel serves in the same role for the New Orleans Pelicans, as well for the Gayle Benson Team of Businesses, where he provides support in communications, community initiatives, government relations, and strategic counsel. These businesses include The Gayle Benson Team of Dealerships, Benson Capital Partners, and Corporate Realty.

Greg Bensel, an integral part of the franchise for 28 years, oversees all aspects of the Saints' communications, broadcasting, digital and social media, community relations, government relations, and youth sports development departments. Bensel also oversees and manages Benson's horse racing operation, GMB Racing, a multi-million-dollar business established in 2014. Three of GMB Racing's horses, Tom's Ready, Mo Tom and Lone Sailor, have competed in the Kentucky Derby. GMB Racing currently has nearly 50 horses at Benson Farm in Paris, Ky., with Bensel assisting in the management and planning of the breedings for the current Benson Farm broodmare band.

Bensel was promoted to vice president of communications for the Saints in 2006 after serving as director of media & public relations for nine seasons. He became Senior Vice President of Communications for both clubs in 2012 after Tom Benson's purchase of the city's NBA franchise.

In his current role, Bensel is responsible for the development and execution of communications strategies for the teams and Benson enterprises, as well as their digital, social and broadcast platforms along with the multi-faceted community relations and youth sports development programs. Bensel has aligned these groups to maximize their effectiveness both internally and externally, while continuing to spearhead the implementation of key new initiatives to increase brand awareness for both organizations. He is also responsible for managing the government relations strategy and policies on behalf of both clubs and all of Mrs. Benson's enterprises.

Bensel has worked on the NFL public relations staffs for three Super Bowls. Prior to joining the Saints, Bensel was director of media relations for the Super Bowl XXXI Host Committee and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. He has also served on the media committee for the NCAA Men's Final Four, the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament and the Sugar Bowl.

A New Orleans native who graduated from Jesuit High School and Tulane University, Bensel started his professional sports career as a media relations administrator for the PGA of America, where he served on the public relations staffs for the 1991 PGA Championship, the 1991 Senior PGA Championship and the 1991 Ryder Cup.
