Michael Parenton enters his 12th season with the New Orleans Saints scouting department and third after the director of pro personnel, following seven seasons as a pro scout. Parenton originally joined the organization in 2012 as a scouting assistant.
Parenton played in two games with the New York Jets in 2009 as an offensive lineman and on special teams after being signed by the club as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane University. The former team captain was a four-year letterman for the Green Wave football team and an All-Conference USA selection all four seasons. A Thibodaux native, Parenton graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and earned a master of accounting degree. He attended E.D. White High School in Thibodaux, where he lettered in football and track. He was a three-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines and a two-time first team 3A All-State selection.
Parenton and his wife, Jenna, have one daughter, Scout.
