Danny Wuerffel talks service work | Saints Podcast Rewind

Super Bowl LIX radio row interview recap with Danny Wuerffel

New Orleans Saints legend Danny Wuerffel dropped by radio row ahead of Super Bowl LIX and discussed his post-QB career work in service.

"My life's mission has become to inspire service and unity in the world," Wuerffel said. "I get to do that through Desire Street Ministries, which works in under-resourced neighborhoods. And now the Wuerffel Foundation kind of inspiring unity and service. And, one thing I have learned along the way is it's about teamwork. You can't ever do much by yourself."

Wuerffel said he was also helping with two initiatives - Huddle for Health which is a program created by NFL Alumni as well as ISNation, an app dedicated to connecting and serving the needs of athletes, coaches, and parents.

"It's about relationships," he said. "And I think if you look at the teams that have great culture, bringing this back to football, teams that think that life's a little bit bigger than just them, you look at the two teams that won in the national championship for college, you look at the cultures on these two teams that are playing the Super Bowl, you see that it translates."

Wuerffel also discussed his connection with New Orleans and said it's a city like no other.

"It's got so much history, the culture, the food," he said. "There's always a party waiting to happen and, if not, a second line just might start. You never know and then when there is a reason to party, it's a big one, like the Super Bowl."

Wuerffel said for those looking to keep up and get involved with his work, that you can find him anywhere, but said "the hardest part is spelling my name."
