Deuce McAllister talks escorting Vince Lombardi Trophy for Super Bowl festivities | Saints Podcast Rewind

Super Bowl LIX radio row interview recap with Deuce McAllister

New Orleans Saints legend Deuce McAllister talked about his experience escorting the Vince Lombardi Trophy with his family during Super Bowl LIX festivities on the Saints Podcast on radio row on Thursday, Feb. 6.

The two-time Pro Bowler rode with the trophy as part of the Super Bowl LIX Second Line in the French Quarter on Feb. 2, 2025.

"They allowed me to be able to invite and have my middle son, his football and basketball team," he said. "So, you're talking about 60, almost 60 players. To be able to, and some of them probably won't get to that level, but to be able to be around the trophy, see the trophy, we took pictures with the trophy. That's special and so that's something that they will never forget."

McAllister also brought the trophy to the Super Bowl Experience at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center so fans could take pictures. Rather than just having state troopers and NFL personnel as security, his youngest son and friends served as his bodyguards or "Top Flight Security," according to McAllister.

"They had their outfits and had the shades on and I'm like what was interesting though is when they figured out that they could go and do some of the NFL Experience stuff, they left," McAllister said. "I lost my security. I mean my security, they're over there running the 40-yard dash and they're throwing the football. And I'm like, 'What are y'all doing?' It was like, 'We didn't know we can come and play.'"

McAllister said being able to have his family involved, "it doesn't get any better than that."

New Orleans Saints legend Deuce McAllister welcomed Super Bowl LIX and the Vince Lombardi Trophy to New Orleans as part of the Super Bowl LIX Second Line in the French Quarter on February 2, 2025.
