Saints Hall of Fame inductee Michael Lewis will appear Friday, Aug. 9 from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum prior to the New Orleans preseason home game with the Minnesota Vikings.
An undrafted free agent who attended Grace King and Bonnabel, the New Orleans native played for the New Orleans Saints from 2000-06. Lewis was the best kick return man in the NFL in 2002, when he set an NFL record for combined kick-punt return yardage with 2,432 yards, including 1,807 on kickoffs and 625 on punt returns, both of which led the league.
Lewis returned one punt for a touchdown and two kickoffs for scores that season. He was named to the Pro Bowl that season and was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press, the Pro Football Writers and the Sporting News. Offensively, Lewis caught 28 passes in his career. He was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2015.
Lewis will be available for pictures and autographs.
Located at Gate B on the Plaza level, the museum is open on game days two hours prior to game time until just before kickoff and for 45 minutes after each home game.
Admission is free on game day with a ticket to the game.
