  • New Orleans finished the 2025 NFL Draft with their first nine-player class since the 2015 NFL Draft. It also marks the first time since the 2015 NFL Draft that the Black and Gold did not make a draft day trade.
  • With their first of their five Day Three picks (112th overall), the Saints selected Oklahoma LB Danny Stutsman.
  • In four seasons at Oklahoma (2021-24), Stutsman started 37 of his 47 career games and finished his college career with 376 tackles (184 solo), 36 stops for a loss, eight sacks, three interceptions, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
  • As a senior in 2024, the Windermere, Fla. native was a consensus All-American. He started all 12 regular season games at middle linebacker and led the Sooners with 109 tackles, eight stops for loss and one sack.
  • In 2023, Stutsman started all 12 games and led the Sooners with 104 tackles (club-best 51 solo), led the team with 16 stops for a loss and added three sacks, a 30-yard interception returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups, earning second-team Walter Camp All-American honors.
  • In 2022, as a sophomore, Stutsman started all 13 games and led the Big 12 Conference with 125 total tackles and ranked 18th nationally (first in Big 12) with 9.6 tackles per game. He also totaled 10.5 tackles for loss (ranked second on team), three sacks, two interception returns for 40 yards, five pass breakups and five QB hurries.
  • This is the fourth time New Orleans has selected from the 112th overall slot, the first since Wake Forest TE Greg Scales in 1988.
  • Stutsman was the 75th linebacker selected by New Orleans in the NFL Draft, representative of the position most selected by the club.
  • Stutsman was the 11th Oklahoma player selected in the draft by the Saints, the first since WR Kenny Stills was selected in the fifth round (144th overall) in 2013.
  • With their second fourth round pick (131st overall), New Orleans selected Louisville CB Quincy Riley.
  • After starting his college career at Middle Tennessee (2019-21), the 5-11, 195-pound Riley finished at Louisville (2022-24). • Riley is also the sixth player selected all-time by the Saints from Louisville, joining QB Tyler Shough, New Orleans' second round selection. With Riley and Shough selected from Louisville and T Kelvin Banks Jr. and DT Vernon Broughton selected from Texas in the 2025 NFL Draft, it marks the first time that multiple players from two different schools were selected by the Saints in the same draft class since the 1972 NFL Draft. In 1972, the Black and Gold selected RB Curt Watson and G Joe Balthrop from Tennessee and WR Steve Barrios and QB Rusty Lachaussee from Tulane in what was a 17-round draft.
  • This was only the second time the Saints have picked at the 131st overall selection, previously selecting Mississippi T Tutan Reyes in 2000.
  • With their third pick of the day (184th overall), New Orleans selected Kansas RB Devin Neal in the sixth round. Neal, 5-11, 213, is the first Saint selected from Kansas since FB Moran Norris (fourth round-115th overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft. He is the seventh former Jayhawk selected by the Saints in the NFL Draft.
  • Neal was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl, where he was tutored by Saints Associate Head Coach/Running Backs Joel Thomas, who served as offensive coordinator for Neal's squad during the practice week and in the game.
  • In four seasons at Kansas, the Lawrence, Kan. native became the school recordholder in rushing touchdowns (49), rushing yards (4,343), scrimmage touchdowns (53) and 100+ yard rushing games (20). Neal also became Kansas' first player with 1,000+ rushing yards in three seasons. • Matavao is the fifth player from UCLA to be selected by the Saints in the NFL Draft, the first since DT Rodney Leisle in 2004 (fifth round-139th overall). He is the only former Bruin currently on the Saints roster.
  • With their second seventh round pick (254th overall) and final choice in the 2025 NFL Draft, New Orleans selected Syracuse edge Fadil Diggs.
