With the 11th pick overall, New Orleans selected Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore and with the 32nd pick, it selected Wisconsin T Ryan Ramczyk (pronounced Ram-check).

· This was the sixth time in franchise history that New Orleans selected two players in the first round. The other years this occurred were 2015 (T Andrus Peat and LB Stephone Anthony), 2002 (DE Charles Grant and WR Donte' Stallworth), 1993 (T William Roaf and TE Irv Smith), 1981 (RB George Rogers and QB Dave Wilson – supplemental) and 1975 (WR Larry Burton and G Kurt Schumacher).

· Lattimore is the fourth cornerback selected by New Orleans in the first round, joining Alex Molden (1996), Malcolm Jenkins (2009) and Patrick Robinson (2010).

· Lattimore is the fifth Saint selected in the first round out of Ohio State, joining LB Rick Middleton (1974 – 13th overall), Schumacher (1975-12th overall), DE Will Smith (2004-18th overall) and Jenkins (2009-14th overall), with the most New Orleans first round picks coming from former Buckeyes, Lattimore being the highest chosen of the group. He's the 15th Saint selected from Ohio State, joining 2016 second round selections and college teammates S Vonn Bell and WR Michael Thomas.

· The 6-foot, 192-pound Lattimore played in 20 games at Ohio State and totaled 46 tackles, one tackle for loss, four interception returns for 61 yards and 16 passes defensed.

· As a redshirt sophomore in 2016, Lattimore opened all 13 games and was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference by the league's coaches, ranking second on the team and sixth in the Big Ten with four interceptions and also contributing 13 passes defensed, helping the Buckeyes qualify for the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes ranked sixth in the nation in total defense (296.8 ypg.) and third in team passing efficiency defense (94.36) and scoring defense (15.5 ppg.)

· A native of Cleveland, Lattimore was a standout at Glenville High School, where he was coached by Ted Ginn, the father of Saints wideout Ted Ginn Jr.

· With the selection of Ramczyk, it is the second time in three years that New Orleans has selected a tackle in the first round, joining Peat in 2015. Ramczyk is the seventh tackle all-time to be picked by the Saints in the first round, including Peat, Jammal Brown (2005), Kyle Turley (1998), Roaf (1993), Jim Dombrowski (1986) and Stan Brock (1980).

· Ramczyk is the ninth player selected from the University of Wisconsin by the Saints. He is the first New Orleans first round selection from Wisconsin.

· The 6-6, 314-pound Ramczyk opened all 14 games at Wisconsin at left tackle in 2016 on his way to consensus first-team All-America and first-team All-Big Ten honors. He anchored a Badgers offensive line blocked for 203.1 rushing yards per game.

· Ramczyk transferred to Wisconsin-Madison from Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2015. At Stevens Point, his hometown, from 2013-14, he handled starting left tackle duties.
