The New Orleans Saints traded with the Jacksonville Jaguars to obtain the 158th overall pick (fifth round) and selected Boston College center Matt Tennant.
Tennant is a three-year starter for the Eagles that has become an excellent technician that knows angles and how to use his hands to control and steer opponents. He is quick into blocks after the exchange and does a good job of moving his feet and adjusting to movement but lacks the raw power and lower body strength to dominate like the elite centers. He does a good job of finishing his blocks off when he can and goes from snap to whistle. He stands a stout 6-5, 300 pounds and is the second offensive lineman taken by the Saints in the 2010 Draft, as the team drafted USC LT Charles Brown in the second round.
