<span style="">The New Orleans Saints announced today the signings of four players to their active roster: CB <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Greg Fassitt, </span>TE Tyler Lorenzen, DT Jermey Parnell and WR Matt Simon. The announcements were made by Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.
Fassitt, a New Orleans native and product of Grambling State, has been with the Saints the past two seasons, primarily on the team's practice squad. He also has spent time with the Chicago Bears on their practice squad in 2007 and also had a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lorenzen, a former standout collegiate quarterback at the University of Connecticut, recently completed his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad. Lorenzen was converted to a tight end in training camp while with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was signed to the Saints' practice squad in week two of the 2009 season.
Parnell, a product of Ole Miss, was originally signed by the Saints as a rookie free agent following a May tryout and witnessed a few different shifts in positions, including as a defensive lineman, a tight end and an offensive tackle.
Simon, a wide receiver out of Northern Illinois, also broke into the professional ranks with the Saints as a rookie free agent in 2009. He spent a portion of the season on the Saints' practice squad earlier in the season.
