Breakout year

Shough played collegiately at Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville, totaling 7,820 passing yards, 59 passing touchdowns, and 11 rushing touchdowns across 42 games, but broke out in his final campaign with Louisville leading the Cardinals to an 8-4 record as a starter. He threw for a career-high 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2024.

Resilient

The quarterback overcame multiple significant injuries during his college career, including a broken collarbone and a broken leg, before returning to full strength in 2024.

Senior Bowl Standout

Shough received praise for his outing at the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl. The quarterback drew the eyes of media at the practices and completed 9-of-13 passes in the game for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Arizona High School Star

A four-star recruit out of Hamilton High School (AZ), Shough participated in the Elite 11 quarterback camp. He threw for 3,071 yards and 30 touchdowns with only five interceptions as a senior in 2017. He received first team 6A Premier League honors as well as first team All-Chandler Unified School District accolades and was rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Arizona by both Rivals and 247Sports.

Off the Field

The quarterback graduated from Oregon in only three years with two degrees in criminal justice and political science and earned his master's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech in December 2022. Shough married his wife Jordan in April 2024.
