NFL CAREER – Wood was signed by the Saints prior to the 2017 season opener after spending the 2016 and 2017 preseasons competing for snapping duties with the Dallas Cowboys and has since snapped for all punts and placekicks in all 115 regular season games and seven postseason contests. Selected as a team captain in 2023, Wood provides consistency to one of the league's top special teams units.

Voted by teammates as a team captain. 2022 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 17 games and recorded a career-high four special teams tackles. 2021 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 17 games. 2020 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 16 regular season games and both playoff contests. 2019 – Handled long snapping for all 16 regular season games and NFC Wild Card Playoff vs. Minnesota, 1/5/20. 2018 – Handled long snapping duties for all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests. 2017 – After spending offseason and preseason with Dallas, signed by New Orleans, Sept. 9, two days before season opener and handled long snapping duties for all 16 regular season games and both playoff contests. 2016 – Signing a contract with the Cowboys after participating in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis and went to training camp with Dallas.
COLLEGE – Started 33-of-43 games he played over four seasons at Southern Methodist, tallying 137 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles at defensive end and three blocked kicks on special teams…Played in ten games, starting nine and recorded 39 tackles with ten tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass deflections and three blocked kicks as a senior in 2015...Appeared in all 12 contests in 2014 and led team with four sacks to go along with 40 tackles….Played in and started all 12 games as a sophomore in 2013 and tied for fifth on team with 49 tackles and six stops for loss, adding a sack and two forced fumbles…Appeared in nine games in 2012, making nine tackles and registering a half-sack...Graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied physiology and health management with a minor in sport management.
