Five Things to Know about Saints guard/center Shane Lemieux

Veteran left guard joins Saints after four seasons with the Giants

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has agreed to terms with guard/center Shane Lemieux. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Lemiuex joins the Saints after spending four years with the New York Giants, appearing in 18 games (12 starts) from 2020-2023.
  2. Lemieux has only committed two penalties in his 691 snaps in the NFL, one false start penalty that was accepted and an offensive holding that was declined.
  3. The Giants drafted Lemieux in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of University of Oregon where Lemieux spent four seasons and a redshirt year with the Ducks. During his collegiate career, Lemieux started 52 consecutive games at left guard earning first-team All-American honors as a junior and a second-team All-American honors as a senior.
  4. During his collegiate career, he played alongside fellow Saints Juwan Johnson and Ugo Amadi. Lemieux was teammates on the Ducks with Johnson for the 2019 season and with Amadi from 2015-2018.
  5. The Yakima, Washington native attended West Valley High School where he played primarily the offensive tackle position for the Rams.
