Five Things to Know about Saints cornerback Will Harris

Harris brings NFL experience at nickel, outside corner and safety to Saints

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms with cornerback Will Harris. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Harris joins the Saints having spent five seasons with the Detroit Lions playing in 81 regular season games (40 starts) and registering 230 tackles (164 solo), 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, 14 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 16 special teams stops.
  2. Harris' lone interception of the 2023 season came against the Saints' NFC South rival, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where Harris hauled in a Baker Mayfield's pass after it had been deflected at the line of scrimmage.
  3. Harris brings versatility to the Saints having played at safety, nickel and outside corner at the NFL level.
  4. Drafted by the Lions in the third round (81st overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Boston College. In 50 career games (41 starts) for the Eagles, he tallied 225 total tackles, 12 pass defenses, 7.5 stops for loss, six fumble recoveries, five interceptions and one sack, earning third team All-ACC honors in his senior year.
  5. His father, Will Harris, Sr., played college football for Mississippi State and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round (195th overall) of the 1993 NFL Draft.
