Tyler Warren Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Jeremy Shockey
Overview: "The ultimate "whatever, whenever" player in the 2025 draft with the size, athleticism and competitive spirit to make good on his intentions. Warren plays with swagger and "best player on the field" energy. He imprints on games with alignment versatility, allowing opportunities for play-callers to stress the defense. Despite his size, he's quick enough to beat man coverage underneath and plays with good recognition of holes in coverage. He has the ball skills and toughness to win contested catches and withstand punishing contact. He's very capable as a lead/move blocker but will need a little improvement at sustaining blocks when blocking in-line. Warren can access all three levels of the field but is best served short and intermediate. He possesses elite football character and plays with a confidence that can be contagious. He has a chance to become one of the best tight ends in the league." Full Tyler Warren draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Big, athletic, tough and competitive.
- Carries a ton of alpha energy on the field.
- Does whatever is necessary to help his team win.
- Handled short-yardage runs with direct snaps and Wildcat looks.
- Impressive early quickness and speed variance in his routes.
Weaknesses:
- Too easily contacted and redirected within the pattern.
- Logged reps where he would coast or run nonchalant routes.
- Will see limited separation as a vertical target.
- Room for improvement with hand placement as a base blocker.
- Hands get wide and grabby working up to second-level targets.
2. Colston Loveland (TE, Michigan)
Colston Loveland finished as a finalist for the 2024 John Mackey Award. Despite missing time early and late in the season, he led the Wolverines with a school-record 56 receptions by a tight end, tallying 582 yards and 5 touchdowns. A 2nd-Team All-Big Ten selection in 2024 and 1st-Team pick in 2023 for the national champions, Loveland posted 1,466 career receiving yards and 11 touchdowns across 39 games. In 2022, Loveland was the team's Offensive and Co-Special Teams Rookie of the Year.

Colston Loveland Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Sam LaPorta
Overview: "Talented young tight end with the athletic ability and ball skills to become an elite talent as a pass catcher. Colston plays the game like a big wideout, capable of separating from man coverage and making plays on all three levels. He has good play speed and runs a route tree full of branches, allowing creative play-callers to move him around as a mismatch option. His routes can be a little hurried and lacking in detail but that should change with coaching. He's graceful in-air and catches the ball with good timing and strong hands. He will keep filling out his frame but is unlikely to ever become more than average as a blocker. Colston's collection of athletic traits and catch talent creates a high ceiling with the opportunity to become a high-volume target and future Pro Bowler." Full Colston Loveland draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Capable of running the entire route tree over all three levels.
- Wins quickly versus press and eludes redirects in space to keep patterns on time.
- Good feel for leveraging defenders out of the break point.
- Able to snap off speed cuts at crisp angles to separate.
- Bounds over coverage and snatches the ball over his head.
Weaknesses:
- Routes lack speed variances to set up the defense.
- Inefficient footwork getting into his breaks.
- Average play strength for contested catch battles.
- Inconsistent working hard back to the throw.
- Will get rag-dolled at the point of attack by NFL power.
3. Mason Taylor (TE, LSU)
Mason Taylor set LSU records for tight ends with 129 career receptions and 1,308 receiving yards. In 2024, he broke the LSU single-season mark for tight end catches with 55 and earned 3rd-Team All-SEC honors. Taylor earned Freshman All-SEC honors in 2022 and started 37 of 38 career games. He opted out of the Texas Bowl but participated in the Senior Bowl to bolster his draft stock. Taylor is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor and nephew (through marriage) of fellow Hall of Famer Zach Thomas.

Mason Taylor Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Dallas Goedert
Overview: "Ascending tight end with plus catch talent and Hall of Fame bloodlines. With just three seasons under Taylor's belt, more growth is expected in both his game and frame. He's a smooth athlete with adequate acceleration and the tools to become a more effective route runner in time. He feels defenders around him and catches with sudden hands and elevated focus when needed. He can handle blocking duties on the move or in space, but in-line action will be a challenge for him. His game needs polish, but Taylor has the ability to become a higher-volume target for a team looking to upgrade at the "F" tight end spot." Full Mason Taylor draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Very natural mover with above-average athleticism.
- Capable of running an expanded route tree.
- Enough juice to run the seam and stack the linebacker.
- Tracks and adjusts to throws with ideal consistency.
- Catch focus seems undeterred by defender's challenges.
Weaknesses:
- One-speed route runner who lacks attention to detail.
- Makes it too easy to read and jump his route breaks.
- Needs to improve his physicality and leverage inside the route.
- Requires better technique and commitment as a blocker.
- Needs to bring his hands inside to improve block sustain.
4. Elijah Arroyo (TE, Miami)
Elijah Arroyo earned 2nd-Team All-ACC honors after leading Miami’s tight ends with 35 receptions for 590 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2024—tied for fifth-most among FBS tight ends. After battling injuries in both 2022 and 2023, he started all 13 games in 2024. Arroyo has 46 career receptions for 753 yards and 8 touchdowns, accepting a Senior Bowl invite to cap off his collegiate career. He grew up playing football in Mexico before moving to Texas, where he became a top-10 tight end recruit nationally.

Elijah Arroyo Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
Overview: "Arroyo enters the evaluation process with questions to answer after a knee injury took chunks of two seasons from him. He displayed a willingness as both a point-of-attack and move blocker, but his technique and play strength will need upgrading. He's an average athlete who struggles to beat man coverage but appeared to get faster and more fluid as the 2024 season wore on. He plays with awareness in space and secures throws with sure hands in traffic. Arroyo is a move tight end whose medical and athletic testing need to check out to give him a legitimate shot at being a productive pro." Full Elijah Arroyo draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Scans coverage in his route path and senses where to find openings.
- Appears confident working into the middle of the defense.
- Makes route adjustments to help a scrambling quarterback.
- Catches with soft, sudden hands.
- Comes off the ball with low pads and lifts into initial contact.
Weaknesses:
- Below-average acceleration off the line and into routes.
- Routes are choppy and lack in-and-out quickness.
- Needs a clean runway to get it going after the catch.
- Requires much more technique work for NFL blocking chores.
- Sloppy hand placement and spotty contact balance hurts his sustain.
5. Harold Fannin Jr. (TE, Bowling Green)
In 2024, Harold Fannin Jr. became the first tight end in FBS history to be named conference Player of the Year. He led the entire FBS in both receptions (117) and receiving yards (1,555)—single-season records for the position—while earning 1st-Team AP All-American and MAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. A two-time 1st-Team All-MAC selection, Fannin finished his career with 180 receptions, 2,396 yards, and 17 touchdowns. Ended the year with a 213-yard MVP performance in the 68 Ventures Bowl and accepted a Senior Bowl invitation.

Harold Fannin Jr. Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Juwan Johnson
Overview: "Enigmatic prospect featuring record-breaking single-season catch production despite a straight-legged playing style. Fannin's lack of functional bend forces him on more linear tracks and cuts his route tree in half, but it doesn't keep him from getting around the field and through the pattern with good speed. Fannin's hands are automatic and he's a competitive runner after the catch, but he needs to prove he can beat tight press-man coverage. He won't block much, but his ability to stretch the field from the slot and make the tough catches give him a shot as a potential TE2 with upside." Full Harold Fannin Jr. draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Gets to his top speed quickly and shows ability to maintain it.
- Crafty in space with the know-how to beat defender's leverage.
- Adjusts his downfield path to track and run under the throw.
- Catches the nose of the football with automatic hands.
- Above-average catch timing and high-point instincts.
Weaknesses:
- Tight throughout his lower body.
- Inability to bend creates a route tree with few branches.
- Will need to prove he can uncover against press.
- Slow to recapture momentum when his feet are slowed.
- Lacks strength to prevent defenders from playing through his blocks.
6. Gunnar Helm (TE, Texas)
Gunnar Helm had a breakout 2024 season for Texas, earning 2nd-Team All-SEC honors and setting single-season records for a tight end with 60 receptions and 786 receiving yards. He tied for fifth among FBS tight ends with seven touchdown catches and started all 16 games during Texas’ playoff run. Helm totaled 79 receptions for 1,022 yards and 9 touchdowns across 55 games. He accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

Gunnar Helm Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Jake Ferguson
Overview: "A combination tight end with good size and soft hands, Helm developed rapidly in the high-scoring Texas offense. He is a capable route runner who can be used on all three levels but was allowed free releases and frequent open looks that he won't see as a pro. His size, hands and feel for space make him a quarterback-friendly target capable of moving the sticks at opportune times. He'll need to thicken his lowers and improve his hand usage to handle in-line blocking chores in the NFL. Helm projects as a future TE2 with three-down potential." Full Gunnar Helm draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Maintains good play speed through his route transitions.
- Allowed to run more complex routes with additional wrinkles.
- Gets eyes back to the quarterback as soon he uncovers.
- Catches the point of the football with soft mitts.
- Light on his feet as a runner but finishes behind his pads.
Weaknesses:
- Average body control with a wide base fitting the block.
- Hands fly way outside the frame as a run blocker.
- Too passive coming across to wham the edge on split zone.
- Catch total bolstered by play-action, misdirection and checkdowns to the flat.
- Rarely challenged by targeted coverage due to weapons around him.
7. Terrance Ferguson (TE, Oregon)
Terrance Ferguson finished his Oregon career as the team's all-time leader in receptions (134) and receiving touchdowns (16) by a tight end, falling just 20 yards short of the school record for tight end receiving yards behind Ed Dickson's 1557 yards. Ferguson posted a career-high 591 yards in 2024 despite missing two games after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. He earned 1st-Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2023 and played in 53 career games, starting 37. Ferguson accepted a Senior Bowl invitation.

Terrance Ferguson Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
Overview: "Productive pass catcher with good size but an alarming lack of tenacity and fire when it's time to run block. Ferguson saw adequate short-catch volume but was rarely asked to venture beyond the front yard as a route-runner. He has not shown enough technique or toughness to neutralize an NFL edge defender at the point of attack, but he can hit targets as a move blocker. Ferguson could improve in that area with additional coaching, but he might need to find the grit needed to compete against NFL tough guys as a run blocker to realize his full potential." Full Terrance Ferguson draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Racked up solid catch production over the last three seasons.
- Displays build-up speed when asked to run seam routes.
- Shows ball skills and body control.
- Gets every inch of reach available when high-pointing a catch.
- Capable of banging through an uncommitted tackler.
Weaknesses:
- Leans way out past his toes as a run blocker.
- Plays with some passivity when fitting up blocks.
- Ambles into routes with heavy steps.
- Disappointing contested-catch rate for a player his size.
- Lacks foot quickness to elude initial tackler after catch.
8. Mitchell Evans (TE, Notre Dame)
Mitchell Evans led Notre Dame in receptions in back-to-back seasons (2023–2024), becoming just the third tight end in program history with 400+ receiving yards in consecutive years, joining Michael Mayer and Tyler Eifert. Despite recovering from a torn ACL suffered in 2023, Evans played all 16 games in 2024 with 11 starts, finishing with 43 catches for 421 yards and 3 touchdowns. He posted 50+ receiving yards in both the College Football Playoff semifinal and national championship game. A former high school quarterback, Evans brings athletic versatility and experience from 45 career games. He accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Mitchell Evans Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
NFL Comparison: Will Dissly
Overview: "Combination tight end who came back strong from a season-ending knee injury in 2023 and got better and more productive as the season progressed. Evans is willing as a blocker and has the size to help in that area, but he would be more consistent with better pad level and strain to finish what he starts. He catches passes aligning in-line or from the slot and frames up defenders to create catch space when contested. He has good ball skills and put a couple of spectacular catches on tape, but he will lose effectiveness beyond the second level. Evans' size and dual-capacity ability on all three downs gives him a chance to become a starter with average catch production." Full Mitchell Evans draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Adequate acceleration out of stems and break points.
- Willing to get rough with handsy coverage at the top of the route.
- Uses frame and hand strength to win when contested.
- Hands-catcher with quality radius to bring in tough grabs.
- Good size with adequate play strength as a run blocker.
Weaknesses:
- Too easily slowed by press and early redirection.
- Tight hips cause route drift out of turns.
- Below-average threat to add yards after catch.
- Needs to guard against overstepping block fits in-line.
- Average strain and finish against players his size.
9. Jalin Conyers (TE, Texas Tech)
Jalin Conyers earned 2nd-Team All-Big 12 honors after posting 30 receptions for 320 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2024 with Texas Tech. Conyers also contributed as a Wildcat quarterback and short-yardage rusher, adding two rushing scores and throwing for a touchdown. He totaled 104 receptions, 1,166 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns across 47 career games. Conyers showcased his skillset at the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Jalin Conyers Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
Overview: "With his size and athletic talent, Conyers could become an NFL surprise if he commits himself to the work off the field. The route-running needs work and he's faster than quick, but he has the size and ball skills to win when contested. His build-up speed allows for better throwing windows over the second and third levels than it does underneath against tight man coverage. He can add yards after the catch and has impressive tape out of the Wildcat at Arizona State, but the run blocking runs hot and cold. The size and talent are there for a roster spot, but sticking around might be up to Conyers." Full Jalin Conyers draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Multi-faceted athlete who can catch, run and throw.
- Build-up speed allows him to beat linebackers down the seam.
- Ball skills to track and create catch space on deep fades.
- Good success rate operating out of Wildcat at Arizona State.
- Runs with vision and competitiveness after the catch.
Weaknesses:
- Coasts through routes without attention to detail.
- Rarely climbs on top of defender before breaking off the route.
- Below-average short-area quickness to uncover underneath.
- Conditioning has been an issue for him at times.
10. Jackson Hawes (TE, Georgia Tech)
Jackson Hawes transferred to Georgia Tech in 2024 after a standout career at Yale, where he was a two-time 2nd-Team All-Ivy League selection. Hawes set career highs in 2024 with 16 receptions for 195 yards in 12 games (10 starts) and accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. At Yale, Hawes totaled 35 receptions for 371 yards and 6 touchdowns over three seasons, leading the team with four receiving scores in 2022. Originally from Salt Lake City, he played five seasons in the Ivy League, including the 2020 season that was canceled due to COVID-19.

Jackson Hawes Draft Analysis by Lance Zierlein
Overview: "Hawes is a thump-and-drive tight end with the technique and fire to help make a difference in the run game as both a lead/move blocker and at the point of attack. Hawes proved he could move from the Ivy League to the ACC and fit right in despite the step up in competition. There are correctable areas as a run blocker but his demeanor and size make it easier to project his move to the NFL in that area. He's limited as a route runner and pass catcher, so a roster spot will need to be secured with a steady diet of physicality. Hawes has Day 3 value with a chance to earn NFL snaps." Full Jackson Hawes draft analysis on NFL.com
Strengths:
- Salty demeanor makes him an extension of the offensive line.
- Dips and explodes hips into targets to dig them out.
- Roughed up Florida State defenders for most of the game.
- Accurate hands and balanced base quickly put him into sustain positioning.
- Impressive hand usage and technique in pass protection.
Weaknesses:
- Low-volume target with small sample size as a pass catcher.
- Limited quickness creates modest range as a route runner.
- Needs to work back to the ball to improve contested catch success.
- Can be tardy to settle his feet into contact as a move blocker.
- Feet can get too stationary in his pass pro.
