2025 SAINTS NFL DRAFT DAY 3 SELECTIONS:

The New Orleans Saints have five selections in Rounds 4-7 of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. The Saints hold the 112th and 131st picks in Round 4, the 184th pick in Round 6, and the 248th and 254th picks in Round 7. DAY 2 RECAP: SAINTS SELECT QB TYLER SHOUGH, DT VERNON BROUGHTON, S JONAS SANKER

The New Orleans Saints selected three players in the second and third rounds on the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday - Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough (40th overall pick), Texas defensive tackle Vernon Broughton (71st overall pick), and Virginia safety Jonas Sanker (93rd overall pick).

Tyler Shough, a 6-foot-4 senior from Chandler, Ariz., completed a college career spanning Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville. Shough, a former four-star recruit, earned Honorable Mention All-ACC honors in 2024 while being named one of three national Comeback Players of the Year after leading Louisville to an 8-4 record as a starter.

Vernon Broughton, a 6-foot-5 senior from Houston, emerged on the Texas defensive front over the course of his career. A former top 80 national recruit, Broughton started 15 games in 2024, recording a career-best 39 tackles and 4.0 sacks.

Jonas Sanker, a 6-foot senior from Charlottesville, Va., was a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection and key piece of Virginia's defense over the past two seasons. A versatile and physical safety, Sanker led the Cavaliers in tackles in 2023 and 2024, posting 107 and 98 stops, respectively. He also recorded 8.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries in 2024.

SAINTS DRAFT HISTORY

The Saints used the 112th overall pick three times before in franchise history, selecting tackle Carl Johnson in the fifth round of the 1973 NFL Draft, selecting guard Louis Oubre in the fifth round of the 1987 NFL Draft and selecting tight end Greg Scales in the fifth round of the 1991 NFL Draft. The Saints used the 131st overall pick once in franchise history, selecting guard Tutan Reyes in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. The Saints used three fourth-round selections in the last five drafts.

The Saints used the 184th overall pick once in franchise history, selecting wide receiver Lee DeRamus in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft. The Saints used four sixth-round selections in the last five drafts.

The Saints have never had the 248th overall selection and only used the 254th overall pick once before in franchise history, selecting defensive back Doug Robinson in the 10th round of the 1968 NFL Draft. The Saints utilized three seventh round selections in the last five drafts.
