ALONTAE TAYLOR 2024 SEASON ANALYSIS:

Cornerback Alontae Taylor completed his third season switching between two roles midway through the season. Taylor started out as the team's slot corner, but injuries as well as the eventual trade of cornerback Marshon Lattimore resulted in him closing out the season playing the outside cornerback position.

The third-year player played in all 17 games, starting 15 of them, and finished the season with a career-high 89 tackles (61 solo), the third highest total on the team. Taylor racked up 16 passes defended, a career high and tied for the fifth highest total in the league, as well as adding two forced fumbles. He finished with seven tackles for loss including 4.0 sacks, tied with former Saints defender Alex Molden's total from 1997 for the most by a cornerback in franchise history.

BEST GAME OF ALONTAE TAYLOR'S 2024 SEASON:

Taylor got off to a rollicking start to the season when he tied the NFL record for single game sacks by a cornerback taking down Bryce Young three times in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. Taylor also led the team in tackles in the 47-10 victory tallying six total (five solo). He also added a pass defensed and conceded only one reception for 32 yards on three targets.

BEST QUOTE FROM ALONTAE TAYLOR'S 2024 SEASON:

"I just bought in to being a nickel at the time, but ... I'm a corner at heart. So it was just a amount of time that when I got my opportunity back outside that I was going to seize that moment and do what I've got to do. Like I said, I honed in and I embraced being the nickel, and that was my role and if I get moved in there at some point in time throughout my career for the rest of the time, then OK, cool. But corner, I'm always comfortable. That's where I'm supposed to be and for the next eight weeks I know for sure that's where I'm going to be at, so I'm going to perfect my craft and get better. ... The experience was great, the time that I spent there was fun but now I'm back outside, I'm back at home. So we need some lockdown corners on this side of the ball, and I feel like I'm that guy."
