New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees posted on his Instagram account Wednesday, Sept. 18 that he was heading into surgery to repair his injured right thumb, confirming what Saints Coach Sean Payton said on his Wednesday morning teleconference with the media.
Brees was injured in the first quarter of last Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams when his defensive tackle Aaron Donald hit his hand. Brees is having surgery in Los Angeles. How long he will be out has not been determined.
