New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, Dec. 18. The league announced the award on "Good Morning Football."
Brees played one of the best games of his spectacular 19-year career in Monday's 34-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He was 29 of 30 for 307 yards with four touchdowns, which gave him 541 for his career, an NFL record. His completion percentage (96.7) also set an NFL record.
Brees ended the game completing 22 consecutive passes, his personal record, and it was the 36th game he has thrown for four or more touchdowns, first in the NFL.
Brees now has passed for 21 touchdowns, his 16th season with at least 20 touchdown passes.
