The Green Bay Packers dominated on third down and with time of possession in seizing a 21-0 halftime lead over the New Orleans Saints on Monday at Lambeau Field.
The Packers (10-4), under the direction of quarterback Jordan Love, had long scoring drives on their first three possessions that ended with touchdowns. The first drive went 63 yards and took 6:19, the second drive went 96 yards and 17 plays and took 8:55, the third drive went 67 yards and took 2:57. The Packers were four of seven on third down, two for two on fourth down and had the ball for nearly 20 minutes.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler made the start in place of the injured Derek Carr but with all of the team's top-line play-makers injured had little success in sustaining drives. The Saints played without running back Alvin Kamara, receivers Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Marques Valdes-Scantling and tight end Taysom Hill. Rattler was four of eight for 56 yards and lost a fumble. Running back Kendre Miller had five carries for 12 yards.
Saints center Erik McCoy left the game after the first possession with an elbow injury.
The Saints (5-9), who were eliminated from playoff contention Sunday, will get the ball to start the second half.
