A late interception deep in their own territory cut into the New Orleans Saints' lead as they went into halftime up 17-10 over the New York Jets on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees was intercepted by Leonard Williams after getting hit while throwing the ball. The Jets took over at the 11-yard line with 1:14 to play in the half but the New Orleans defense forced them to settle for a 29-yard Chandler Catanzaro field goal with nine seconds left.
The Saints (9-4) scored on a 23-yard Wil Lutz field goal, a 1-yard run by Mark Ingram and a 10-yard pass from Drew Brees to rookie Alvin Kamara.
The Jets (5-8) scored earlier on a 2-yard run by Bilal Powell.
Saints tight end Michael Hoomanawanui left the game with a concussion and guard Larry Warford was injured on the Brees interception.
