Halftime update: New Orleans Saints 17, Oakland Raiders 10

Opening game of 2016 season

The New Orleans Saints used two Drew Brees touchdown passes to take a 17-10 halftime lead over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Brees connected with Willie Snead for a 1-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and with Brandin Cooks for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Rookie Wil Lutz added a 42-yard field goal, the first of his NFL career.

Tha Raiders scored on a 47-yard Sebastian Janikowski field goal and a 6-yard touchdown run by Latavius Murray.

Saints statistical leaders:

Brees, 15 of 24 for 200 yards.

Running back Mark Ingram, seven carries for 33 yards

Snead, five catches for 84 yards.

Raiders stat leaders:

Quarterback Derek Carr, 12 of 16 for 137 yards.

Murray, seven carries for 32 yards.

Wide receiver Amari Cooper, four catches for 73 yards.
