New Orleans Saints, Dixie Beer to honor and host first responders at Jets game

Saints, Dixie Beer will host more than 200 first responders Sunday

The New Orleans Saints and Dixie Beer will honor and host more than 200 first responders during Sunday's game vs. the New York Jets at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to thank them for their work and sacrifice in our communities.

A full field American flag will be held by first responders during the singing of the national anthem by Amanda Shaw. Following the anthem the first responders will watch the game from seats on the field.

The first responder groups participating:

Acadian Ambulance
The Coast Guard
Jefferson Parish Fire Department
Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office
Kenner Police Department
Louisiana State Police
New Orleans Fire Department
New Orleans Police Department
Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office
Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office
St. Bernard Fire Department
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office

Later during the game the Cajun Navy 2016 will be recognized and there will be a Community Coffee Military Moment.

The 50/50 raffle beneficiary Sunday is the Volunteers of America.

The Saints also will be collecting new, unwrapped toys in support of the Toys for Tots Program in partnership with the Marines. There will be collection boxes at each entrance gate to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Champions Square.

In addition to honoring first responders, Saints legend Morten Andersen will receive his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring at halftime. He will be signing autographs at the Saints Hall of Fame from 10 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Sunday.
