The New Orleans Saints' dominating Thanksgiving night win over the Atlanta Falcons delivered big numbers for NBC, especially in the New Orleans market.
The NBC broadcast earned a 75 share and 52.3 rating in New Orleans which means three out of our every four homes with televisions in use were watching the game. That share was the second best for the Saints as part of the NBC "Sunday Night Football" package, trailing only the 78 share for the 2010 kickoff game when the Saints played host to the Minnesota Vikings. The Atlanta market had a 16.7 rating and 34 share for Thursday night's broadcast.
Nationally, the broadcast earned a 11.4 rating/24 share in overnight numbers, up 18 percent from last season's Giants-Redskins game. Nearly 22 million people viewed the broadcast and it was the largest audience for a Thursday prime-time show on any network in 2018, according to information provided by NBC.
