New Orleans Saints agree to terms with linebacker Pete Werner on three-year contract extension

In 2023, the Indianapolis native started all 16 games he played in and set a career-high with 93 tackles (53 solo), the second-highest total on the team, to go with a split sack, one interception, one pass breakup and two fumble recoveries, tied for the club lead.

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with linebacker Pete Werner on a three-year contract extension.

Werner, 6-3, 242, is a four-year NFL veteran who was originally selected by the Saints in the second round (60th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. In three seasons, he has appeared in 43 games with 35 starts, recording 231 tackles (151 solo), a split sack, one interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three special teams stops.
