Kansas City, Mo. – Times of celebration were few and far between for the New Orleans Saints during a 26-13 loss to Kansas City on Monday night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Saints (2-3) couldn't mount anything sustainable in any phase and as a result, they own a three-game losing streak entering a Sunday game against Tampa Bay (3-2) in the Caesars Superdome.

Commensurately, there weren't many standout performances to speak of, either. But there were a few.

OFFENSE: Rashid Shaheed quickly is becoming one of the best home run threats in the NFL, and he struck again Monday night. Shaheed's 43-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter pulled the Saints to within 10-7 and of his three touchdown catches this season, it was the shortest. Simply, he can outrun almost any coverage, and he is being given every opportunity to make a play when the situation is favorable – and whenever the quarterback has time, Shaheed has shown he wins routes. He caught four passes for 86 yards and the score against the Chiefs.

DEFENSE: The defense didn't play up to its standard against Kansas City, but a Bink Pick deserves praise. Defensive tackle Khalen "Bink" Saunders intercepted the first pass of his six-year career against his former team. Better, the 325-pounder caught the deflected pass in the end zone with one hand and proceeded to return it 37 yards like a running back – a broken tackle or two, both hands on the ball for security. Saunders finished with seven tackles, a pass defensed and his highlight-reel interception.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Nothing really stood out for the group. A good job was done in coverage (the Chiefs average eight yards on four punt returns, 23 on three kickoff returns) and punter Matthew Hayball had another solid outing (49.8-yard gross, 41.8-yard net, one downed inside the 20) on four punts. But there wasn't a signature moment.
