Post-Practice Media Availability

What's been the best part about coming (to Tulane for a practice)?
"I think any time you change the routine up – push practice back, I thought they handled it well and the other thing is we get a great turnout. I think it's just another exposure for our fans. The facility is fantastic. You get a sense that the crowd is right on you here. Our training camp attendance has been great. I think (doing) this every year is a real good changeup. I think it's good for the fans and for us.

Is Saquan Hampton coming along faster than (you anticipated)?
"He made a big play tonight. He has good hands. He is one of those players the ball finds. I've been encouraged. He's smart."

I know we talked about it during the draft, but was (Saquan Hampton) particularly a special teams standout or that was an added (bonus)?
"When you read a vision for a player, you feel like he is a developing safety and the guy that we feel confident that is going to be able to come in and help right away. You are trying to read the vision in year one. That does not take anything away from him defensively. As you look at a rookie making the roster and what he can do in the first part of the season, that was the early vision."

What are the chances that (Alvin) Kamara could join a rare group and be a 1,000-yard receiver and ,1000-yard rusher?
"He has the flexibility. He excels in a lot of things. He has a really good balance and he's strong on his feet. A lot of it just depends on each week, where we see him and how we see him involved. The sum total still starts with winning. He has those traits to run and receive."

Have you seen a difference in (Alvin Kamara's) route running?
"He's a tireless worker. He's got very natural hands. He gives you a lot of flexibility when you put him in the passing game. He could be out in space in empty sets, he can come back in. Those are all real good traits for his position."

I know you're big on the history of the Saints and coming back here where they started, can you talk about what that's like just to know that this is where they started and the history of that.
"We've tried to in our 13 years really celebrate and pay attention to those who came before us. I think the (Tom and Gayle) Bensons have done a great job of really creating that culture for our alumni, not just our current players. There's a number of reasons it makes sense to be back here."

What's your thought process in to the timing into which guy gets a "vet day"?
"We kind of map it out prior to training camp. We look at peak loads and ramp up days. There are three different groups of players so some might be on a vet day or kind of a "wear and tear day." Some might not be. It is laid out and discussed and we actually meet on it before training camp begins."

The New Orleans Saints host their tenth day of training camp presented by Verizon, at Yulman Stadium. Fans came out to support their favorite members of the Black & Gold.
