New Orleans Saints jack-of-all-trades offensive threat Taysom Hill appears to have avoided a major injury Sunday against Dallas.

Hill suffered a chest injury in the third quarter of the 44-19 victory over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. He finished with 18 rushing yards on three carries.

He was taken to a hospital in Arlington for further testing and flew with the Saints back to New Orleans on the team charter. The Saints (2-0) will play Philadelphia on Sunday in the Caesars Superdome.

"Taysom is doing good," Coach Dennis Allen said Monday. "He feels good, I don't know if we've gotten all the results back – he went and had some more imaging done today. I think we avoided anything real serious.

"It's a chest injury. It's nothing that's serious, so he'll be in the rehab process just like everybody else is, and we'll go from there."

In two games Hill, who this season was named one of the Saints' captains on offense, has 53 rushing yards on eight carries and a 1-yard reception. Last year he became the fourth player in NFL history to record 10 rushing touchdowns, 10 receiving touchdowns and 10 passing touchdowns.

This season he has lined up at receiver, tight end, fullback and running back in addition to several special team roles. His availability for Sunday will be determined later this week.

"We'll just monitor him throughout the week," Allen said, "see what he can do, see what he can't do and go from there."
