Week 16 Postgame Quotes: Saints Players

Postgame reactions from the Saints players after defeating the Atlanta Falcons 23-13.

New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 Mercedes-Benz Superdome

Running back Mark Ingram II

On making the playoffs today:
"That is what we work for. We work to get into the tournament and have a shot. Our number one goal is to always win our division. We are going to try to accomplish that next week."

On Ted Ginn Jr. 's 54-yard touchdown reception late in the second quarter:
"It was huge. We were up 6-0 with about 50 seconds left in the half. It was a play that we had drawn up because we saw it open. Ted and Drew (Brees) executed perfectly and the line blocked it up. How about that defense? Those boys were savages. We put them in a bad position in the second half (with an interception), but they were able to bail us out and we were able to put up a couple of scores and put the game a little further apart."

Running back Alvin Kamara
On playing today after missing most of the December 7 meeting with the Falcons after leaving the game in the first quarter with a concussion:
"I was ready. I didn't get a full chance the last time that we played them. Playing in this game meant a lot. I was prepared. It wasn't too big of a moment, but it was important because it was the next game. We were able to get a win and it feels good."

On if it felt like revenge:
"It felt like revenge. They beat us the last time. It feels good to get in there and handle what we had to handle. It feels good."

Linebacker Manti T'eo

On changing momentum:
"As a defense, there are certain moments that you can change the momentum for the good or regain that momentum when things are going bad. I think that is a strength of playing defense when you are at home. You have a lot of say in how things go. You can see those moments and you try to capitalize on them."

On how momentum affect the opposing offense:
"Anyone who has played the game can tell you it a demoralizing situation. They were fourth and a few inches and didn't score. I'm just glad that today that we were on the right side of that. That is something that we can build off of."

Defensive end Cameron Jordan

On today's game:
"We were able to come away with the win. We were able to accomplish what we wanted to do. We clearly affected the quarterback the last time we played these guys and today we ramped it up."

On the crowd:
"They did exactly what we needed them to do. That's about as loud as you are going to get in here. I maybe heard it louder one other time than this. The energy that they gave. We were able to feed off the fans and one another on defense. It's a heck of a win."

On making the playoffs:
"We have loftier goals. We have been saying all year that we want to win our division. We will have that opportunity next week against Tampa Bay."

Cornerback Marshon Lattimore

On making the playoffs:
"We haven't been to the playoffs since 2013. It's great being able to contribute to the team and having success. It means the world to me."

On his interception:
"I saw the ball pop up, but I was mad because I fell down. I could have easily caught it off the tip. I felt it on the back of my leg and everybody tried to come grab it. I did a little leg curl and it was there. I must be living right. I knew it never touched the ground because it was on the back of my leg. I haven't seen anything like that before. It helped us win, so that's the biggest thing."
